Welcome back to Canada, Eh?

I now officially live in Canada. My agent at customs was lovely and didn't charge me any tax on the items I was bringing into the country. To be fair, I don't really have much of value aside from my yarn collection and I'm sure no one cares about that in the slightest unless they are crazy knitters like me.

I haven't knit much since I've been back. But I was teaching my step sister the other day. She's progressing well. I think she also wants to learn crochet so I will have to brush up on that! I am heading to my Dads today for Christmas Day celebrations. We usually have Christmas Eve with my moms family, and Day with my Dad.

Last night was really fun seeing everyone. I was so sleepy by 8pm though, with the jet lag so I ended up in bed really early. AND I had a nap before everyone arrived! Now its 6am and I'm wide awake. Not good.

On the first day of Christmas....

I have been a very busy little bee.

My last day of working in England happened today. Tomorrow is one of my most favouritest people's birthdays. We are spending the day in London learning to make Sock Monkeys - hello awesomeness!!

Yesterday was a day spent in London, at Winter Wonderland. I was very good and only bought food and some small things, like a belt that has three owls on it.

I wanted to buy this from Joules, and I still might if they have my size tomorrow!

I finished my dragon FINALLY.

Christmas Celebrations!

Tonight is my first Christmas party of the season. And, happily, it's my knit group's christmas!

We do a gift exchange where we buy crafty supplies or make something. Last year I got some lovely Rowan Cocoon and a copy of the Bella's Mittens from Ravelry. I gave a handmade hat, and others got things like craft books, home sewn needle holders, all sorts of awesome things!

I cannot wait to see what my lovely ladies have come up with this year!

And to socialise with them and eat a lot of crap (I bought a lot of crap).  I am giving a gift that keeps on giving - my favourite interchangeable needles. Well not mine, but the same as mine. I hope whoever gets them loves them!

Here is a picture of something I made earlier, for another secret santa that we're doing at work. :)

The Pressure Is On - 100 blog posts later....

This is my 100th post.

I feel it should be monumental, profound, you know. all that stuff that my dedicated readers deserve.

Today I did some non-knitterly things - like hiking up a hill in the mud. And buying groceries. And I actually took some pictures!

Here is the hill I walked up. It's called St Martha's Mount in Chilworth, Guildford, Surrey. Veeerrry close to where I live but this was my first time up!

I have also been working on knitting. This is true.

These are my next pattern that I shall be writing up! I didnt like the big "purled" gap between the cable and the stockinette starting in the pink ones, and while I love that twisted knit stitch up the side, I just didn't think it was working right, so I have fixed that in the blues and voila:

Ive also started working more on my Maxfield. The front panels are single rows, and the sleeves will be double colour rows with 10 rows of navy to separate them. Hurrah. The sleeve stripes are my favourite.

I also happened to put on facebook about wanting to start a knit group in Toronto and so far I've had a lot of positive response, and as I organised the one here in England, I think I'm more than capable of developing another perhaps! Challenge accepted.

I also got a funny response to come knit at someone's work. Sounds like it could be interesting, meet some different people, volunteer some time, and while I love me some old ladies and their stories of life I think this won't be seniors but a variety of people from all walks of life. So while I might be unemployed when I get back home, that might not last long and in the meantime I might be able to do some really interesting things!

Impending doom

You may have gathered, if you've actually been reading my blog (hi Erin!) that I am moving to Canada again.
Yes I am from there, but I have been living in England for about 5 years now, which is a helluva long time! I've been quite stressed about it which is really funny, as it's Home. My real home. I'm even moving into what was my grandma's house where I lived back in university - into the same Room, very much Home if I were to have one! My mom lives there. My cat lives there. My brother lives there. It's sounding a bit small come to think of it.... he he

My concern is that all of my knitting friends live here in England. I will reunite with many many friends back home. That's where most of my "family-friends" are. Not necessarily your parents friends, but those people that you can just be you, say what you want, argue, relax, not talk, and just be happy to be around people. I am very lucky to have several of these people in my life, some here in England but many back in Toronto.

My plan.

Start a knitting group in Toronto. Friends of friends.

And start offering knitting lessons. All over Toronto. To those in need of skills.

Sorted right? :)

Ships Ahoy.

Six or more weeks from today I might see my boxes of stuff again. Might. Hopefully.

They have embarked on a journey that will take them into central London, England and then onto a ship across the ocean to somehow make it into Toronto. Where they will then be sent by courier to my home in the city of Mississauga (essentially one big Toronto suburb, for those who don't know the area).

Inside these boxes are almost all of my knitting books, my straight needles and about half of my yarn collection.

This is a stressful time in my life as you can imagine! To remedy stress one must always take up a new knitting project. I think that's a written rule somewhere...

I have begun a Secret Santa present for my work exchange. I haven't made it very far yet, but I've done a bit on it. I have two weeks to complete them, and the first pair of these didn't take me a week, so I should be okay time wise.

I also have been making a blanket out of my scraps. It's quite fun. If I had known how much fun I would have started it ages ago!!!  I have so many favourite squares already. Not all of them are very square, more rectangles, which is something I need to work on I think!

Sunday 18 November 2012

A little of this, a little of that

I am packing my shipping boxes and found out today that my yarn can in fact go into the shipping boxes. The regulations were warnings for "some countries" but Canada is not one of them. Which is good because most of the stuff I'm packing was actually bought in Canada and brought over last Christmas!

When I first learned to knit I went a bit haywire and bought a ton of stuff. Needles, yarn, and I didn't know what half of the stuff was! Now I barely use straight needles and when I do my housemate always asks me questions with concern in her voice - something clearly is wrong. Why are those needles so straight? But this project, as it will be lengthy and ongoing the straights are good - I won't be desperate to get them for another project.

So I happily sorted my yarns into "Can go into shipping box" which meant if it got lost somewhere at sea as things sent in any sort of postal service have potential to do I might not break down and cry too much, and which "I might use soon (hopeful) or I am saving for a special special project." And here this means a decent amount of tears and regret if they are lost.

In my sorting I found lots of bits. Some big, some small. None full skeins and not even near half in many cases. What do I do with these once so loved, so full of memories of gifts, these finished items.

Something for me, something I can keep. A BLANKET! A random, stripey, patchy blanket! Or at least some squares for one at the moment. I think this will be my "long day, can't think" project. So easy. And something to make me actually make swatches perhaps?

New Design

So, I have this amazing shocking pink wool I bought at Romni in Toronto. If you knit and you want to travel, Romni is a destination to make you chose to visit Toronto. No lie.

I find this pink quite inspiring. Good pinks and good purples are hard to capture in a picture.

So I was making away and today I had a breakthrough. This happens on weekdays when I should be at work but am not. (And not sick, because that is never a recipe for productivity.) So today I had a driving test in the middle of the day and had the day off. I passed!

Then I designed these....

I like them. There are things I would change, but I'll knit the second and perhaps do another pair with changes.

Maybe I will write these up as a pattern? I'll be umemployed soon so you might get a lot of productivity from me then!!!

I am my Grandma's granddaughter....

Me and my mom aren't much alike. We look like twins but we're very very different. My mother is the sweetest person, and she takes a lifetime to make any decision. I make my choice and bolt along.

When I was a kid my grandma used to tell me that I was an old lady. Older than her. This was probably true as she was vibrant and lively and ALWAYS on the move. She wasn't the grannies at the park sat on the side lines by any stretch! She was crafty in the old sense. Making things out of nothing, cooking everything from scratch, sewing for fun but making useful things like quilts that were super warm and long long long lasting.

I think me and my grandma were very much alike. Sure she was sewing at 60, and I was doing the same at 16 but personality wise we were very similar. I butt heads with her more than my own mother.

She was from Glasgow in Scotland and had really just moved to Canada for a holiday, thinking she wasn't going to live long. Then lived to 80!

But I never got why she'd refuse to do certain things. Like get Canadian citizenship. Instead she'd stand every two or four years to renew her immigration landing card. And she wouldn't get any sort of phone plan on a contract (land line people, she hated cells). She would get an annual bus pass as that's all they would sell the seniors, otherwise I'm sure she would have only gotten monthly.

I didn't understand this.

But now I'm packing to move back to Canada myself from Britain and I realise. She was ready to go. At the drop of a hat she could run back to Scotland or wherever the wind took her. She was living life. She wasn't tied down. Yes, she had four children and a stick in the mud husband but despite that she kept her personal freedom. She kept her roots, it kept her as sane as someone self-named Crazy Grandma could be.

And at 29 I have turned into her. I knit instead of sew, but I'm ready to go.

But I don't mind. She was awesome.

Sunday 4 November 2012

Oh my, that's pink

My little cousin keeps bugging me to teach her to knit. We've only sat and tried this twice now. But I do know, that a 4 year old must be quite talented to learn to knit at 4.

A 5 year old, as well, is slightly too young. Perhaps 7 is the best age? I'm not sure, but I think this little one will have quite a penchant for purchasing art supplies - one after my own heart.

So me, very craftily having already bought the wool, say to the little one "How about something pink for Christmas?"

"Oh, yes. Or purple. I like purple."

"How about pink stripes" Me, super crafty right? I have light pink and bright pink, already to go. Plotting and planning in my head.

Cousin: "Yes, purple and pink stripes"What?!

The problem with this kid is that her memory is pretty good. The only time she doesn't seem to remember things is when she doesn't want to. Or if you try to talk to her while there is ANYTHING else going on. But there was nothing.

I hope she likes it. Or forgets what she actually asked for. Perhaps I'm not so crafty.... but she is getting a bloody purple dragon, surely that will cover the whole "Purple" issue?

I hope so!

Own your knits

When I chose a knitting pattern for myself one of the key things needed is you have to really really really want to own/make that item. Watch it come to life, add it to your wardrobe, test your skills... there has to be a drive.

If your knitting project bores you chances are you won't actually want to finish it and it will be one of those things that sit in the bottom of your projects bin/bag/pile.

One of the things I really wanted to own was Cobalt by Kim Hargreaves. I chose burgandy, before the actual autumn fashion lines were out and luckily for me that colour is bang on trend. This of course had nothing to do with my selection and much more to do with the fact I really suit burgandy and couldn't find a cardigan I liked in the shops.

I finished this piece on a train from London to Rugby. Who knew there was an actual place called Rugby! I didn't get to see any of it, but the train got me there. Also, since I finished this on Monday I have worn it three times - today is only Thursday.

Here is my finished piece, worn with the dress that inspired the colour choice and the garment choice.

Friday 26 October 2012

friday nights in

I love a good Friday night in. Usually, after working all week I am not in the mood to go out on a Friday.

Today I set to work on my Maxfield, sorting out which colours to use. I have two balls yellow, one gold and one light orange... and chose to use the two I have the least amount of yarn for. Perhaps not my brightest moment, but the pattern only calls for two balls of the contrast colour, so lets just hope it all works out in the end!

I am using larger than called for needles, as I knit really tightly. Its a bit bigger than gauge, but this means that if I somehow shrink this baby it will still all be okay!

And voila! I think I might be in love already!

Solving the puzzle

As some of you might know I have been deciding my future. I think I've kinda made up my mind and this revelation comes at the same time as many of my UFOs (unfinished objects to those non-knitterly peoples out there) are coming to a close.

I am almost done my Cobalt cardigan - sleeves are blocking, neckline is completed and the right side has been stitched up. Perhaps this weekend it will be done!

I have also been working on one of the Purl Bee's Shawl Collar cowl's, and that too is just about done. Need to knit the bottom together (more than already has been done as I have started that process) and stitch up the fronts and it will be complete as well.
One mitten from the green pair before is still just one mitten, but I will need a break from all this stitching up so I will probably start that this weekend!

That's me in a nutshell. Working to the finish line! Hurrah!

Oh, and I bought the pattern for the the Maxfield Cardigan by Amy Christoffers  from my last post, so might need to cast on for that this weekend... Keeping busy!

Monday 22 October 2012

late nights, no sleep

I have stash.

I have a lot of stash. Believe me! I trolled Ravelry for hours trying to find something suitable, what to do with all this yarn?!

Inspired by the Maxfield Cardigan, I thought about how very sad it is that I do not suit yellow. Its so bright and sunny! How can it not look good on me?!

the maxfield

But imagine this sweater on me, mostly in navy as in the picture, but also with these colours:

And maybe some sort of crazy stripe pattern? Blue, Blue, Blue, Blue, Blue, orange, yellow, orange...lather rinse repeat?

I'm thinking, what combination would use up my stash AND make this suit me? Maybe if I did the body in the smaller stripes and the fronts in the "less stripe" option...

This yarn is the Nashau Creative Worsted (now discontinued but still sold under Rowan's brand). The stuff is amazingly soft. It does split as you knit if you don't catch the whole loop but any mistakey loops sort themselves if you fix it then move on. One thing to note: do not knit in bed. It sheds like crazy at first, but once you remove the preliminary pilling layer it doesn't do it again, so over time it sort of felts together into this smooth soft flexible fabric.... dreamy.

Wednesday 17 October 2012

Oh, THATs what those were.

So, all these photos appeared on my phone.

How did those get there? I deleted them one by one.

Oh no, they are back.

So I delete the whole album.

And now my whole blog is photoless.

Surely that's a flaw Google?! Not impressed!!!

Friday 12 October 2012

Multi Tasking.

When knitting mittens I do tend to get the bulk of the work done then look at those forlorn thumb stitches and think "I'll do those later" and promptly move onto the next project.

Well my friends, not today.

Today I did the whole "knit the thumb while STILL knitting the body of the mitten". Oh yes, I multitasked. And it was amazing. It did involve digging around a bit within the ball of yarn to find the other end, but I gotta admit, that was a bit fun.

And don't worry too much about twisting the two strands as you're knitting as the thumbs are only what, 12 small rows at most (fingerless mittens here), then you can snip the yarn and untangle very easily.

The mitten shown here is Autumnal Mittens, and I am using King Cole Baby Alpaca in Sage (not quite so greeny as in the pictures)

front showing the natural thumb and body separation after a couple rows.

the back; you can see how it is knit in a straight line, but using different ends of the ball to keep them separate.

inside and outside, at the same time.

If this seems daunting and something that would just confuse you don't worry. You can't panic too much, it's just a bit of string!

Just take your time, and if you have any questions just ask!

Tuesday 9 October 2012

Failed my driving test.

I did fail. I was stupid and failed on a major. I only had a few minor mistakes that the examiner said I did really well.... aside from the massive crash I almost caused, but hey ho!

I'm off to drown my sorrows in yarn galore! I have my knit group tonight and my friends there are my favouritest people ever so its always nice seeing them when I have a crappy day!

Another thing that cheers me up?

Harry Potter. So, I went to the studio. I got some picatures of me there. Here are some...

In front of Ron's bed, with his handknitted blanket on the bed...but im sadly blocking it!

Tuesday 2 October 2012

Weather's getting colder

So, I think autumn is officially in full swing. There is no Indian summer this year.

I needed a project to give myself a break from my Cobalt cardigan, not that it's not lovely and I can't wait to finish it, but sometimes you just need something a tad more mindless.

Enter - another pair of fingerless mittens! Even though its been months I still know the pattern off by heart, which is bizarre! I just can't speak highly enough for these Autumnal Mittens. I <3 them!

The yarn is one of the Mitchell and Co alpaca blends, but somehow the label has been lost, which is very un-me. And it's not in my Ravelry catalogue of yarns and might be the only ball of yarn I have that isn't, so I will assume it's the same as the other alpaca dk I bought on the same day!

Tuesday 25 September 2012

Sunnnnnny Skies!

So the weather said grey and drizzly all week. But it was sunny yesterday evening and its sunny right now! Wooo!

I said goodbye to my best friend yesterday which was super hard.

To cheer myself up I cast on this little guy, Tarrgon the Gentle Dragon! He's by a clever knitter who goes by Knit-a-Zoo.... so jealous of their skills!

Mine is a light purple (one less pink than in the pattern picture) but I think I will make his wings and such a blue as well. I'm using Rowan Worsted Creative... and I love it!

I'm quite a tight knitter so mine is turning out smaller than I thought he would, but then again, good things come in small packages!

Thursday 20 September 2012

Humans make progress...

I gave in. I pulled the needles out of my mittens and started working on the sleeve for my cardigan. Oh yes. I was that desperate.

Horrible isn't it? At least I'm back to work and feeling better (if slightly less sane, but ah well).

So sleeve number 1 has started. The sleeves are quite easy in comparison to the button band so I have been enjoying them. They are going slower than I would like but that is probably because of all the moving stuff I'm doing and I didn't actually knit much while home. Between sleeping, watching repeat tv on my computer and eating I was kinda out of time.

I have been very jealous of one of my friends who has ordered yarn for a new sweater. I cannot order anything until I tackle my ridiculous stash. I have to finish quite a few projects for the "winter onslaught" to actually make some money to fund my yarny life style...

To make up for my jealousy I did just order some buttons for my cardigan. And if I don't like them when they arrive I've only spent £3 so I won't feel too guilty and I'm sure I can find another use for them.

I hope they arrive sooner rather than later!

Tuesday 18 September 2012

Postal Deliveries!

The post man is my friend. Yes? Let's hope so as I posted something off from my shop the other day. I always worry that it is going to arrive okay!

Well I do love my post lady who comes to my little flat. She always leaves my packages when they won't fit through the mail slot, so in my mind that makes her my best friend!

Today, she dropped off a book I ordered. Oh yes, did I mention that I am not buying anything for the next little while? Well I bought a book.

It's Lene Holme Samsoe's Essentially Feminine Knits. And it was Essential - see, its right there in the title... The images on Ravelry aren't complete, but the Amanda cable cardigan I blogged about the other day is in this book, so I thought, "What the hell..."

And today, to abate my sickness this book has arrived. And one picture that is not on Ravelry that I just fell in love with is this one:

I don't know how crazy I am about the hood, but the rest of it is amazing! I could modify the hood into a cowl neck or something maybe! Or, use the stitch pattern for the front of an open cardigan?  First, I must finish the Cobalt, use up some of my ridiculous stash, and make some christmas goodies. And only then I can consider my next jumper!

Procrastination 101

I am that annoying person at work that gets things done, organises others and just kinda keeps tabs on things.

At home, I am not that person. At all.

For this move to plan the organisation I have actually sent all my yarn-y goods to my new house in advance. Yes? Yes!  Distraction and procrastination are my forte. But you know, I kept one or two projects here. My Cobalt and a pair of Ysolda's Snapdragon Mittens.

Issue #1 - I have reached a stage on my Cobalt front where I need some scrap yarn. The Snapdragon yarn is not suitable, and I don't have anything else on hand. Balls, lack of balls in this case.

Issue #2 - The snapdragon pattern is packed away at the new house. Yes, I have a digital copy but that's more work and harder to follow. The yarn I'm using is Rowan Creative Worsted which is a single ply fluffy job, so it doesn't make the funnest frogging. So I kinda don't want to mess it up.

So I am sitting.

Alone.

With no knitting.

And I'm home sick from work today. Daytime tv is not for me....

And I have no knitting. I'm not really in any state to be cleaning/packing. I did do some minor sorting between naps, but I just wannnnnnnnna knit.

I just need to pass some time until 1 when I can nap again. (I'm staging it through the day to maximise getting better potential! Wonder if it will work....)

Sunday 16 September 2012

Sweater Progress

I'm making good progress on my Cobalt sweater! The picture is a bit horrific.

You can see my horrible button markers - scraps of peach yarn, which goes lovely with the burgandy! This is the body of the sweater inside out, making sure the pieces line up as I knit them. You can just see the top of the back behind the left piece - I'm loving the diamond pattern!

But the progress of this is definitely encouraged by my lack of anything else to knit. I haven't been back to my new room since I moved all my knitting stuff in last Tuesday. Maybe I can get the sleeves done and the sewing up before next weekend when I officially move in with my yarn supplies!

Of course, me being me I have more sweaters on the brain.... Trying to decide which to do but I think this one is first:

Then perhaps one of these other ones:

And there are a few colours' I'm toying with! WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO!?

Tuesday 11 September 2012

Knits in Motion

All of my knitting goods were transported to my new home tonight. Okay, well I keep a project or two with me but my monumental stash is now in my new home. It feels weird to be back here with most of my stuff gone, but my current home is closer to work so it makes more sense.

I can't wait to get into my new room. I will have daylight (currently in a basement and its been doing my head in!) and so hopefully better bloggy pictures too!

I also got a new phone with a fandangled camera so I hope my Quick Pics are better as well. I do love me a bit of last minute, late night photo and blogging.

Here's a current FO I finished at knit group!

Much better colour quality, nice flash option, so hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more useful and nice pictures to come!

Testing Testing 1 2 3...

Sorting through all of my yarn in my anticipation of moving at the end of the month has been slightly fun but very nerve wracking.

How did I get so much yarn?

I really have too much of everything to be honest. In an emotional state I sorted through my cupboard and got rid of more than half my clothes. And since doing that I haven't actually reached for anything and realised it was gone, so I really must not have been wearing much of it.

Anyhow, it also inspired me to pick up some of the acrylic yarn I haven't touched in years. Vanna White (Lion Brand yarns) really does know her stuff. That acrylic, while it can never compare to the likes of alpaca or extra fine merino, does have a nice feel considering it's made of polymer.

Here is the hot water bottle pattern I'm working out. I am also working on these mittens.

\

I am encouraging myself to actually write up the patterns for these things. I really wanted the mittens to be yellow and blue at the top but I think I might run out of the yellow wool. The brown and blue do look nice, but they are reminding me too much of these:

I like the colours in the fingerless ones best, but I'm trying to use up the odds and ends still from the ex-boyfriend (so weird saying that!) and his abandoned projects.

Wednesday 22 August 2012

Life awaits

So, we all know life doesn't wait for us. We have to go out and make it happen.

Unfortunately I haven't been very motivated, but changes are coming and I have been coping quite well considering!

I am moving house in the next 4 weeks and I hate moving. The worst part is I don't know where I want to move to, which has never happened to me before. When moving into our flat I had the excitement of the new prospect of living with my boyfriend. And sadly we are parting ways and so I am now left to decide - What do I want to do?!

Having to sort through my stash and decide what I really do need to keep and what do I really need to find a new home for was sad. But also, inspiring to use yarns that I had cast aside ages ago (ahem acrylic).

You will soon get bored of pictures of Hot Water Bottles, but I had a ton of them I got for a good price ages ago, and since I'm moving I plan on making a bunch of covers up and selling them as sets. And for once I might actually take them into work and see if anyone there will buy things, rather than just Etsy.

You might be pleased to know that I am working on drawing up a pattern for a 1.5L hwb cover. Just working out the schematics for DK, aran and chunky weights!

Sunday 12 August 2012

Quick - Entertain me!

I need to be entertained a bit more today - stress and all.  So, I thought it might be nice to do a recap of all my recent FOs.

There was the toddler spiral cap, for which I'm working on a written pattern. I didn't like the way the top went a bit uneven so I'm doing another prototype in the same pink as the bunny booties below...

Bunnies! Gifted and happily on the feets of a little angel. These are Debbie Bliss Bunny Bootees . Fairly intricate to knit, but sooo cute! The ears and face I postponed for AGES but they really do make a sweet gift so I'm sure I'll struggle through another pair. They're intermediate, but if you're willing to do crazy things like knit the row you're on while knitting it into a row 7 below then you're ready for this project!

These are my asparagus/celery coloured Aidez rip off mittens. Really must come up with a name and perhaps write the pattern for them too!

And this weekend's masterpiece - A Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk hot water bottle cover using the Muckle Mitten colourwork pattern. I do love the pattern! This HWB is squishy, soft and I am selling it on Etsy!

If you want a pattern for a hot water bottle let me know. I've been working on some but so many factors can change - bottle size, yarn weight etc, that I am stumped as to which to publish!

Saturday 11 August 2012

Quick Gnits.

(How come knitting isn't like gnome? gnitting. Knome. Bizarre)

Anyhow, the real point of my blog today is to emphasize that sometimes a simple knit can really get you back into the swing of things!

I have been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster the past few days with some personal live decisions ahead of me and they have affected my ability to knit. And with so many things that I want to start or finish I should be using this spare mental energy to DO something.

So, my Cobalt cardigan was taking too much energy. The surprise I'm making for a surprise friend definately takes mental capacity (sorry, not giving away much am I?!). But Hot Water Bottles.

They are comforting, simple and so satisfying! I cast on using aran yarn this morning, after contemplating colour combos, design options, etc. I finally chose a purple on purple in cashmere merino silk and decided to use the Muckle Mitten colourwork pattern that I love.

I spent a few hours on the train to and from London today and was on the slow train so I had a bit of time to work on it. And once the colourwork was done I was able to read my Kindle while knitting which had me feeling like a total geek but so proud of myself at the same time.... (geek.)

This is the progress I made on the train. This is only a 600ml water bottle, not the standard 2L which would obviously take much longer to make! I've gotten quite a bit further; up to the neck now.

I'll be selling this in my Etsy shop once it's complete. I have more train journeys tomorrow so maybe it will be done then... :)

Friday 3 August 2012

Keepin' me warm

I think two years ago my knitting obsession took over. But then it was all about slippers. Then mittens.

Now. Sweaters!

Here are a few of my "Dreaming about making" that are making my short list!

This one is the Schoodic Cardigan from Kelbourne Wollens. Looking at their list of patterns I've actually had a few in my favourites for a while!

Then there's the Agnes Pullover from the latest issue of Knitscene. So cute! There's always something in that magazine that I absolutely love!

Houndstooth anyone?! This one is by Claire Montgomerie from an old issue of Yarn Forward. I would want to shorten it though, as it's more of a coat length than a work-suitable cardi!

And any by Alexis Winslow would be great!

This one is the Vera cardigan

SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!!!  If you have any opinions on which I should make first lemme know! I need help choosing!!!!
