Sunnnnnny Skies!

So the weather said grey and drizzly all week. But it was sunny yesterday evening and its sunny right now! Wooo!

I said goodbye to my best friend yesterday which was super hard.

To cheer myself up I cast on this little guy, Tarrgon the Gentle Dragon! He's by a clever knitter who goes by Knit-a-Zoo.... so jealous of their skills!

Mine is a light purple (one less pink than in the pattern picture) but I think I will make his wings and such a blue as well. I'm using Rowan Worsted Creative... and I love it!

I'm quite a tight knitter so mine is turning out smaller than I thought he would, but then again, good things come in small packages!

Humans make progress...

I gave in. I pulled the needles out of my mittens and started working on the sleeve for my cardigan. Oh yes. I was that desperate.

Horrible isn't it? At least I'm back to work and feeling better (if slightly less sane, but ah well).

So sleeve number 1 has started. The sleeves are quite easy in comparison to the button band so I have been enjoying them. They are going slower than I would like but that is probably because of all the moving stuff I'm doing and I didn't actually knit much while home. Between sleeping, watching repeat tv on my computer and eating I was kinda out of time.

I have been very jealous of one of my friends who has ordered yarn for a new sweater. I cannot order anything until I tackle my ridiculous stash. I have to finish quite a few projects for the "winter onslaught" to actually make some money to fund my yarny life style...

To make up for my jealousy I did just order some buttons for my cardigan. And if I don't like them when they arrive I've only spent £3 so I won't feel too guilty and I'm sure I can find another use for them.

I hope they arrive sooner rather than later!

Postal Deliveries!

The post man is my friend. Yes? Let's hope so as I posted something off from my shop the other day. I always worry that it is going to arrive okay!

Well I do love my post lady who comes to my little flat. She always leaves my packages when they won't fit through the mail slot, so in my mind that makes her my best friend!

Today, she dropped off a book I ordered. Oh yes, did I mention that I am not buying anything for the next little while? Well I bought a book.

It's Lene Holme Samsoe's Essentially Feminine Knits. And it was Essential - see, its right there in the title... The images on Ravelry aren't complete, but the Amanda cable cardigan I blogged about the other day is in this book, so I thought, "What the hell..."

And today, to abate my sickness this book has arrived. And one picture that is not on Ravelry that I just fell in love with is this one:

I don't know how crazy I am about the hood, but the rest of it is amazing! I could modify the hood into a cowl neck or something maybe! Or, use the stitch pattern for the front of an open cardigan?  First, I must finish the Cobalt, use up some of my ridiculous stash, and make some christmas goodies. And only then I can consider my next jumper!

Procrastination 101

I am that annoying person at work that gets things done, organises others and just kinda keeps tabs on things.

At home, I am not that person. At all.

For this move to plan the organisation I have actually sent all my yarn-y goods to my new house in advance. Yes? Yes!  Distraction and procrastination are my forte. But you know, I kept one or two projects here. My Cobalt and a pair of Ysolda's Snapdragon Mittens.

Issue #1 - I have reached a stage on my Cobalt front where I need some scrap yarn. The Snapdragon yarn is not suitable, and I don't have anything else on hand. Balls, lack of balls in this case.

Issue #2 - The snapdragon pattern is packed away at the new house. Yes, I have a digital copy but that's more work and harder to follow. The yarn I'm using is Rowan Creative Worsted which is a single ply fluffy job, so it doesn't make the funnest frogging. So I kinda don't want to mess it up.

So I am sitting.

Alone.

With no knitting.

And I'm home sick from work today. Daytime tv is not for me....

And I have no knitting. I'm not really in any state to be cleaning/packing. I did do some minor sorting between naps, but I just wannnnnnnnna knit.

I just need to pass some time until 1 when I can nap again. (I'm staging it through the day to maximise getting better potential! Wonder if it will work....)

Sweater Progress

I'm making good progress on my Cobalt sweater! The picture is a bit horrific.

You can see my horrible button markers - scraps of peach yarn, which goes lovely with the burgandy! This is the body of the sweater inside out, making sure the pieces line up as I knit them. You can just see the top of the back behind the left piece - I'm loving the diamond pattern!

But the progress of this is definitely encouraged by my lack of anything else to knit. I haven't been back to my new room since I moved all my knitting stuff in last Tuesday. Maybe I can get the sleeves done and the sewing up before next weekend when I officially move in with my yarn supplies!

Of course, me being me I have more sweaters on the brain.... Trying to decide which to do but I think this one is first:

Then perhaps one of these other ones:

And there are a few colours' I'm toying with! WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO!?

Knits in Motion

All of my knitting goods were transported to my new home tonight. Okay, well I keep a project or two with me but my monumental stash is now in my new home. It feels weird to be back here with most of my stuff gone, but my current home is closer to work so it makes more sense.

I can't wait to get into my new room. I will have daylight (currently in a basement and its been doing my head in!) and so hopefully better bloggy pictures too!

I also got a new phone with a fandangled camera so I hope my Quick Pics are better as well. I do love me a bit of last minute, late night photo and blogging.

Here's a current FO I finished at knit group!

Much better colour quality, nice flash option, so hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more useful and nice pictures to come!
